Thanksgiving Feast

This Friday is our Thanksgiving Feast. If you can send food we need it to school by 9:30am. If you would like to help please be at the school by 1:00pm.

Common Day!

Just a reminder that Wednesday is our field trip. It is a common day. Everyone comes at 8:00 am and goes home at 2:10 am. Don't forget to bring home lunch if you signed up for one. Dress warm!

October 6 -9

This week we will be working on the reading buddy Freddy the Frog, He tells us to hop over the word read till the end of the sentence go back and try the word again. In math we will continue on our Pattern unit. This week is the book fair. Stop by and support our PTA. We will also be having SEP conferences this week. They will be held Wednesday and Thursday. Please come at your scheduled time. If you have a conflict will you please let me know ASAP. Wednesday, October 21 will be our First Grade Field Trip. We will be going to Hee-Haw Farms. Information about the Field Trip is included in this weeks newsletter.

September 21 - 25

This week we will be working on short vowels. We will work on our reading buddy, Sammy the Spider. He tells us when we get to a word we don't know to try to say the first sound, read the sentence then go back and try the word again. We will finish up our unit on number sense. On Friday we will have apple day. If you are able to send a couple of apples we need 6 red, 6 yellow, and 6 green. I could still use more volunteers, especially to change reading books. If you are available to do that please let me know.

Great Start

I just want to thank all of you for a great start to the school year! We have been working on our classroom procedures and starting some basic academics. We are now getting into our regular classroom routines. We have started our take home reading books and hopefully those are going well. Next week we will begin our Raz kids reading.

Welcome to First Grade! I am so excited to start this school year. My name is Mrs. Hall. This is my eleventh year teaching. I taught Kindergarten for three years and then this will be my eighth year teaching first grade! I look forward to getting to know all of you.
